アメリカ大陸横断 カリフォルニア→ノースカロライナ 【Day 1】

昨日5月16日にやっと念願のインターネットへの接続が出来、(パパ曰く一時的なものと言っていたが．．．)ようやく、このブログを更新する事が出来ました。これから少しずつアメリカ大陸横断の過程を綴って行きたいと思います!

4月24日(月)　

　週末に友達のヘルプで随分と片付いたが、まだまだ出てくるガラクタ。

10年の間に、こんなにいらない物を集めてしまっていたリーク家。予定では本日朝にも出発したかったが、まだ荷物が1/3は残っている状態で、パパは「午後になるな。」と言っていた。

ママとしては、疲れた状態で運転はしない方がいいから１日伸ばして25日に出ようと言ってみたが、現地が気になるパパは聞く耳持たず。

結局ナンダカンダで、現地時間午後7時半に住み慣れたカリフォルニア州Reseda市にお別れを告げ新地へと出発!

ここからアメリカ大陸横断の旅が始まる．．．　

ちなみにパパがトラックの運転(歩・老犬シンディー便乗）で、ママは三菱モンテロ(日本名は“パジェロ”)の運転(恭湖便乗)です。ResedaからInterstate 15→Interstate 40で、ずーっとノースカロライナまで走る旅です。

夜の運転なので道は混まなかったので4時間近くのドライブで難関のロサンゼルス都市エリアを通過。

夜中になってきた事もあって、トランシーバーで話し合った結果、「モーテルを見つけて休もう。」という事に決定。

フリーウェイに出てくる表示で大きそうな町の名前を見つけて本日終了！と行きたかったが、大きそうな町と思ったらな〜んにもない、真っ暗闇。

再度トランシーバーでもう少し走ろうと話し、随分先の“Ludlow”(まだカリフォルニア州内)まで来たら、モーテルの看板発見。

一路、フリーウェイを降り直行。

個人で運営している事もあり、名前も聞いたこともないモーテル。パパがチェックインの手続きを済ませて部屋へ入ると、こんな感じ。



　　　　　


あまり綺麗ではないが、仕方がない。日中の荷物運びや部屋の掃除で出来た汗や汚れをシャワーで流したいと思い、子供達にも聞いたが、歩は一緒にシャワーを浴びると言うが、シャワーだけのお風呂を見たことがなかった恭湖は怖がりパス。

シャワーの温度を確認していざ歩と入ってみると．．．無い。

シャンプーが普通は置いてあるのに、ココには石鹸しかない。(ママはあまりの疲れで入る前にチェックしませんでした。)

仕方が無く石鹸で髪を洗い、シャワーで流し完了。


疲れのせいか、珍しく静かなリーク家の就寝でした。
